AT THEIR MEETING THIS MORNING, THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HEARD A REPORT ON MONDAY NIGHT'S PUBLIC HEARING WITH THE JACKSON COUNTY ZONING BOARDD CONCERNING A PROPOSED EXPANSION OF A BIODIESEL PLANT IN MAQUOKETA TOWNSHIP. OWNER GARY

HE HAS A SMALL PLANT NOW, BUT WANTS TO EXPAND THE OPERATION ON 8 ACRES AT 92ND STREE AND 233RD AVENUE, NORTHEAST OF MAQUOKETA. THE PLANT WILL BE LOCATED INSIDE THREE BUILDINGS. DREW USES USED RESTAURANT OILS AND METHANOL TO MAKE THE BIODIESEL FUEL.

A CANDIDATES FORUM IS SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT FOR THE 5 PEOPLE SEEKING THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL FIRST WARD SEAT. THE EVENT STARTS AT 7 P.M. AT CITY HALL. THE SPECIAL ELECTION FOR FIRST WARD RESIDENTS ONLY WILL BE ON DECEMBER 16TH.

MAQUOKETA POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING TWO INCIDENTS. PRECISION METAL WORKS ON EAST PLATT REPORTED THAT THEIR POP MACHINE WAS BROKEN INTO. AND THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BUSES WERE UNPLUGGED MONDAY NIGHT LATE.

SAGE ROSENFELS DID A GOOD JOB IN GETTING ANOTHER WIN FOR THE HOUSTON TEXANS LAST NIGHT.
