THE WEATHER WAS NICE OVER THE WEEKEND IN MAQUOKETA. THE RECORD HIGH FOR TODAY, 73, WAS SET IN 1978. WE TIED IT TODAY.
AND, IT WILL BE WARM AGAIN TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY. A LITTLE COOLER ON
THURSDAY AND COLD, BELOW NORMAL, THIS COMING FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND
SUNDAY.

TRISHA MILLER, OF MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL, A SENIOR, PLACED SECOND IN THE STATE IN THE CLASS 3-A CROSS COUNTRY STATE MEET SATURDAY IN FORT DODGE.
HER TIME WAS 14:48, ABOUT 30 SECONDS BEHIND THE WINNER. MILLER WENT TO STATE ALL FOUR YEARS. HER FINISH SATURDAY WAS HER BEST. SHE WAS 4TH LAST YEAR. ANNE BRUNO OF MAQUOKETA AND A JUNIOR AT ANDREW HIGH SCHOOL, HAD HER BEST TIME OF THE YEAR, 15:51 AND FINISHED 17TH AT THE STATE MEET.

THE PRESTON GIRLS NEED ONE MORE VICTORY AND THEY WILL BE IN THE STATE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT. THEY MEET SPRINGVILLE TOMORROW NIGHT AT THE GYM IN WYOMING.

SAGE ROSENFELS , FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA, PLAYED THE 2ND HALF OF THE GAME YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHEN THE NFL TEXANS PLAYED THE VIKINGS. HE REPLACED 1ST STRING QUARTERBACK MATT SCHAUB WHO WAS INJURED IN THE FIRST HALF. SAGE HAS DECENT NUMBERS GOING 21 FOR 29 AND 224 YARDS, INCLUDING ONE TOUCHDOWN AND ALSO ONE COSTLY INTERCEPTION. THE TEXANS LOST 28 TO 21 AND NOW HAVE A 3 AND 5 RECORD.

A GAS DRIVE-OFF AT CASEY'S SUNDAY....$14.55 AND A BIKE STOLEN OUTSIDE THE PUBLIC LIBRARY, REPORTED BY MATTHEW PADAVICH.

GOACKE, JOANN WENTORTH AND BETTY MILLER.

ANNOUNCER JIMMY SAUNDERS DREW OUT CLARA'S NAME. CLARA LIVES IN ONE OF THE NEW APARTMENT BUILDINGS DOWNTOWN, AT 202 SOUTH OLIVE STREET. SHE HAS LISTENED TO KMAQ FROM THE START. HAS GONE ON A COUPLE KMAQ TRAVEL BRANSON TRIPS TOO.
STILL DRIVES HER OWN CAR. HER SISTER-IN-LAW WON THE MARCH RADIO.
THIS RADIO ALSO HAS A CD PLAYER AND SINCE SHE HAD NO CD'S, I GAVE HER A
