THE JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATED A THREE VEHICLE ACCIDENT LAST FRIDAY MORNING ON HIGHWAY 61 AND 63RD STREET,1 AND 1/2 MILES NORTH OF MAQUOKETA.
CLIF LAMBORN, AGE 88, WAS CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO YIELD UPON ENTERING A THROUGH HIGHWAY. LAMBORN AND THE DRIVER OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, SARA MCALPIN, AGE 73, OF
DUBUQUE, WERE TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL HERE IN MAQUOKETA WITH POSSIBLE INJURIES. DEPUTY RANDY MANNING SAID LAMBORN WAS DRIVING WEST ON ROCKDALE ROAD. HE PULLED OUT AND BROADSIDED THE MCALPIN VEHICLE WHICH WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY
61. LAMBORN THEN CONTINUED ON AND HIT A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY KAREN THOMAS, AGE 65, OF MAQUOKETA, WHICH WAS STOPPED AT 63RD STREET AND HIGHWAY 61. THE MCALPIN VEHICLE WENT INTO THE DITCH. DAMAGES WERE LISTED AT $6,500 TO LAMBORN'S 2006 BUICK; $7,000 DAMAGE TO MCALPIN'S 2004 TOYOTA AND $4,500 DAMAGE TO THOMAS'S 2005 FORD.
