NICE WEEKEND WEATHER. TODAY NICE ALSO. HIGH AROUND 80.

SAW "AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', THE FATS WALLER MUSICAL SHOW" YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT THE TIMBER LAKE PLAYHOUSE IN MT. CARROLL. GOOD SHOW IN A GREAT LITTLE THEATRE OUT IN THE WOODS THAT HAS BEEN THERE FOR OVER 60 YEARS. IT WAS THE LAST SHOW OF SUMMER. HOPE YOU GET A CHANCE TO SEE ONE OF THER SIX SHOWS NEXT SUMMER.
THEY HAD A FULL HOUSE YESTERDAY, INCLUDING A ROW OF FOLDING
CHAIRS. THEN DINNER AT THE GERMAN "STABLES RESTAURANT", RURAL SABULA. VERY NICE.

SOME INCIDENTS OVER THE WEEKEND LOCALLY:
TOM KIRK REPORTED SOMEONE SHOT A BB THROUGH HIS WINDOW.
KEN MOORE SAID SOMONE BROKE A COUPLE WINDOWS AT THE KIRCHOFF THEATRE ON EAST PLATT. THE THEATRE BY THE WAY IS FOR SALE BY THE PEACE PIPE PLAYERS. AND I HEARD THEY HAVE A BUYER. THEY NOW USE THE NEW OHNWARD CENTER FOR THEIR PRODUCTIONS.
PART OF THE NEW RETAINING WALL ON SOUTH 5TH STREET WAS
VANDALIZED.
MAQUOKETA FIREFIGHTERS WERE CALLED TO A MINOR FIRE IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM AT BOB KENNEDY'S HOUSE ON 82ND AVENUE, NEAR BALDWIN. THE FIRE WAS OUT WHEN FIREMEN ARRIVED.
A MINOR ACCIDENT AT 8 SATURDAY NIGHT NEAR THE FAIRGROUNDS. A CAR DRIVEN BY RYAN FELLER, AGE 22, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS INVOLVED AND MINOR DAMAGE AND NO CHARGES AND NO INJURIES.

MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT.

MARV BRADY DIED SATURDAY NIGHT. WHEN I CAME TO MAQUOKETA IN AUGUST OF 1958 TO HELP PUT KMAQ ON THE AIR, MARV WAS THE OWNER OF A LITTLE FURNITURE STORE, CALL "THE HOUSE OF BRADY" ON NORTH MAIN STREET WHERE THE BAKERY IS NOW. HE WAS A LONGTIME MAQUOKETA BUSINESSMAN AND FORMER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT. HIS OBITUARY AT www.carsonandson.com
