THE ONE-CAR ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 61 A HALF-MILE SOUTH OF MAQUOKETA. THE 98 FORD ESCORT WAS TOTALLED AND ADA WAS TREATED AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL FOR MINOR INJURIES.
A RURAL MAQUOKETA HOME WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY FIRE YESTERDAY MORNING AROUND 11:30, ON 74TH STREET NORTHWEST OF MAQUOKETA OFF THE CAVES ROAD. THE HOME WAS OWNED BY LAWRENCE RILEY AND RENTED BY BILL STETLER. MAY HAVE STARTED BY A WOOD BURNING STOVE.
