HOW DID MAQUOKETA SURVIVE FOR 167 YEARS WITHOUT IT??? THE LAW WILL BE FOR CATS,DOGS AND HORSES.

COLE MCCAULLY, AGE 16, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS IN AN ACCIDENT SOUTH OF DEWITT TUESDAY AFTERNOON. HIS CAR WENT INTO A DITCH AND ROLLED. HE WAS NOT INJURED.
HEATHER GOODENOW, AGE 21, OF MAQUOKETA WAS IN A TWO-CAR ACCIDENT TUESDAY NIGHT AT QUARRY AND DEARBORN STREETS. OTHER CAR DRIVEN BY NICHOLAS SCHROEDER, AGE 16, OF MAQUOKETA.
GOODENOW WAS CHARGED FOR FAILURE TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY. NO INJURIES.
THE NEW TIMBER CITY TRAVEL PLAZA, AT SOUTH EDGE OF MAQUOKETA, NEAR THE NEW MOTEL,
WILL OPEN IN EARLY AUGUST, ACCORDING TO ONE OF ITS OWNERS, BRIAN KONRARDY.
HE TOLD KMAQ NEWS IT WILL HAVE A RESTAURANT, AND WILL PROVIDE FUEL FOR CARS AND TRUCKS 24 HOURS A DAY. THERE WILL BE A TRUKERS LOUNGE WITH SHOWERS AND LAUNDRY FACILITIES.
