THE BEAR CREEK NARCOTICS TASK FORCE MEMBERS WERE CALLED OUT LAST NIGHT IN MAQUOKETA, TO INVESTIGATE A VAN STOPPED NEAR CARDINAL SCHOOL AND LISA DRIVE. THE COUNTY'S DRUG DOG LEAD THE MEMBERS TO BELIEVE THERE MIGHT BE DRUGS OR INGREDIENTS USED TO MAKE DRUGS, IN THE VAN.
POLICE CHIEF BRAD KORANDA SAID CHARGES ARE PENDING IN THE INCIDENT.

MAQUOKETA POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING 3 VEHICLE BREAK-INS THAT HAPPEND OVERNIGHT THURSDAY. CARS ENTERED AND ITEMS TAKEN BELONG TO JIM BOLLMAN, GREG DANIELS AND TIM SOMMERS.
ALSO, POLICE SAY SOME VANDALISM WAS DONE TO THE NEW BATHROOMS (YES, THEY HAVE A SHOWER FACILITY) AT HORSESHOE POND PARK, SATURDAY NIGHT.

LEROY BICKFORD, 79, DIED FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT THE HOSPITAL. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, ROSE MARY, AND A SISTER, DORIS YADDOF OF MAQUOKETA.
ELEANOR KEENEY, 87, ALSO OF MAQUOKETA, DIED SATURDAY AT THE MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY 5 SONS: BLAYNE OF DAVENPORT....WAYNE OF MARION....LIONEL OF MAQUOKETA....ALLAN OF MIDDLETON, WISCONSIN.....AND JAMES OF URBANDALE. ALSO, 2 BROTHERS, LEON SPECHT OF WISCONSIN AND LARRY SPECHT OF MAQUOKETA.
