IN THE LOW 40'S TODAY, WITH SOME SUNSHINE.
THE MAQUOKETA BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM...HERE IN TOWN LAST NIGHT....CAME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT MAQUOKETA VALLEY IN OVERTIME. IT WAS A NON-CONFERENCE GAME AND THE LEADING SCORER WAS AGAIN ADAM HEPKER, WHO HAD A CAREER HIGH 33 POINTS. THEY FINISH THE REGULAR SEASON NEXT WEEK, PLAYING MARION.
THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MET IN SPECIAL SESSION THIS MORNING FOR 90 MINUTES TO DECIDE WHAT PUNISHMENT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE HIGH SCHOOL BOY WHO "STREAKED" AT THE GAME LAST FRIDAY NIGHT. HE WAS SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL FOR 13 DAYS.
TOMORROW, I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW THE CARDINAL GIRLS GAME CAME OUT...BEING PLAYED AT DUBUQUE WAHLERT TONIGHT...A TEAM THEY PLAYED IN JANUARY AND LOST BY 8 POINTS.
