SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: SUPERVISOR DAVE KENDALL REPORTED THAT SOMEONE DROVE THROUGH HIS STRAWBERRY FIELD AND DAMAGED THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM. IT HAPPENED LATE SATURDAY NIGHT OR EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. DAMAGE DONE, ESTIMATED AT $2,000.
COURT NEWS: TRAVIS HAYLOCK, AGE 18, WAS CHARGED IWTH OWV, 2ND OFFENSE.
HE WAS ARRESTED EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.
JOHN "JACK" MYATT, 84, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED SATURDAY AT CLOVER RIDGE ASSISTED LIVING PLACE. HE WORKED FOR ALLIS CHALMERS AS A WELDING ENGINEER IN INDIANA AND HE AND HIS WIFE JUST MOVED TO MAQUOKETA LAST DECEMBER. HE WAS BORN IN LOST NATION. SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, AND 2 CHILDREN.....A SON IN OKLAHOMA AND A DAUGHTER IN MAQUOKETA, BETH CRUSHA. ALSO 2 SISTERS IN MAQUOKETA, ROSEMARY FRANCOIS AND JOAN CRAWFORD.
