MOSTLY CLOUDY, MISTY TODAY AND HIGH OF 49.

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, AT THE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH COMMUNITY ROOM, AARON CLAUSING, AGE 18, OF MAQUOKETA, RECEIVED HIS EAGLE SCOUT AWARD, THE HIGHEST HONOR IN SCOUTING. HIS MAIN PROJECT FOR THIS AWARD WAS BUILDING AN OBSERVATION BOOTH AT THE MARSHY AREA JUST NORTH OF MAQUOEKTA WHERE THE
HURSTVILLE INTREPETIVE CENTER IS BEING BUILDT. HIS DAD IS MIKE, ASST. THE THE COUNTY ENGINEER,
AND HIS MOTHER IS ROXANNE, OF THE KMAQ SALES DEPARTMENT. HE HAS AN OLDER SISTER WHO WILL GRADUATE THIS SPRING AT WARTBURG COLLEGE. IT WAS MY FIRST EAGLE SCOUT CEREMONY AND I ENJOYED IT. MAYOR TOM MESSERLI WAS THERE AND FOUND OUT THAT HE, TOO, WAS AN EAGLE SCOUT....GETTTING HIS AWARD IN CLINTON IN 1976. GOOD GOING AARON AND TOM.

THE MIAMI DOLPHINS LOST YESTERDAY AND THEIR ONLY TOUCHDOWN WAS ON A PASS FROM MAQUOKETA'S SAGE ROSENFELTS, WHO PLAYED ABOUT THE LAST 5 MINUTES OF THE GAME AND COMPLETED 4 OUT OF 5 PASSES.
GOOD GOING SAGE.

CHRIS AND JENNIFER HUNTER OF DAVENPORT ARE PARENTS OF TWIN BOYS, BORN OCTOBER 30TH AT A DAVENPORT HOSPITAL. MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS ARE STEVE AND LUANN BECK OF MAQUOKETA.

MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT. THEY WILL TALK ABOUT AN ADDITION TO THE HIGH SCHOOL AND OTHER AGENDA ITEMS.

THE VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM IN MAQUOKETA WILL START AT 8:45 A.M. AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL. LEGION MEMBER CLIFF MERRICK WILL GIVE THE ADDRESS.

A MAQUOKETA WOMAN TOTALED HER VEHICLE WHILE SHE WAS DELIVERING PAPERS YESTERDAY MORNING. MICHELLE ELLITHORPE, AGE 26, WAS DRIVING WEST ON SWAGOSA DRIVE AND BECAME DISTRACTED, AND HER CAR HIT A LIGHT POLE. SHE WAS TREATED AT THE HOSPITAL FOR MINOR INJURIES. HER 87 PLYMOUTH WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND THE POLE RECEIVED $500 WORTH OF DAMAGE.

NO MAQUOKETA DEATHS.
