DEWITT WON THEIR PLAYOFF GAME LAST NIGHT BY 1 POINT AND PLAY AGAIN TUESDAY NIGHT AT MT. VERNON, AGAINST MT. VERNON. BOTH PRESTON AND NORTHEAST LOST THEIR PLAYOFF GAME LAST NIGHT.
THE MAQUOKETA FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVED THIS WEEK A GRANT OF $11,723 FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY. THEY WILL USE THE MONEY FOR NEW WIRE-MESH LOCKERS.

AL, "WISH" KRAMER, AGE 88, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED THIS MORNING AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL. HE WORKED AT CLINTON ENGINES FOR 24 YEARS AND THEN WAS A JANITOR AND CARETAKER AT SACRED HEART SCHOOL AND CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA FROM 1980 UNTIL RETIRING IN 1986. HE IS SURVIVED BY NIECES AND NEPHEWS AND A SPECIAL FRIEND GLORIA GIBSON, OF MAQUOKETA AND HER 4 CHILDREN.
