SUNNY, BUT WE ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT TO 80 TODAY.

A VETERAN JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTY WILL BE RETIRING AT THE END OF THE YEAR.
THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ACCEPTED THE EARLY RETIREMENT OF ALLEN BARKER
DURING YESTERDAY'S MEETING. BARKER JOINED THE DEPARTMENT IN MAY 1974. HAVE A GOOD RETIREMENT ALLEN....YOU DESERVE IT. SHERIFF KETTMANN PLANS TO NAME KEVIN SCOTT OF MAQUOKETA AS THE NEW DEPUTY. HE HAS BEEN A PART TIME DEPUTY AND PART TIME JAILER.

THE WHEATLAND WOMAN WHO WAS IN AN ACCIDENT EARLY YESTERDAY MORNING HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS IN IOWA CITY. SHE IS JANET BECTHOLD, AGE 57. SHE IS A BEUTICIAN AT JACK'S BEAUTY SALON IN MAQUOKETA.

MAQUOKETA POLICE SAY CHARGES ARE PENDING AGAINST SOME MAQUOKETA JUVINILES FOR DAMAGING CITY PARK PROPERTY. THEY BROKE A PICNIC TABLE AT FIRST WARD PARK. DAMAGE ESTIMATE, $200.

THE MAQUOKETA CARDINAL FOOTBALL TEAM TRAVELS TO VAN HORNE TOMORROW NIGHT TO PLAY BENTON COMMUNITY....AND IT WILL BE ANOTHER BIG CHALLENGE FOR THE WINLESS CARDS.

KATHY SCHILLING OF MAQUOKETA ROLLED A 225 AND 231 LAST NIGHT AND A 638 SERIES. NOT BAD. SHE IS THE LOCAL MANAGER OF THE NEW IOWA BANK IN MAQUOKETA, AT WEST EDGE OF MAQUOKETA NEAR WAL MART.

WORK HAS STARTED ON THE NEW CONVENIENCE STORE LOCATED BEHIND THE NEWLY OPENED 'FAMILY DOLLAR' STORE IN THE NEW BUSINESS PARK AT THE WEST EDGE OF MAQUOKETA.

VOLUNTEER WORKERS WORKED TODAY ON CLEANING OUT BAD TREES AND BUSHES AROUND THE OLD CLINTON ENGINES OFFICE BUILDING. I'LL PUT UP A PICTURE ONE OF THESE DAYS.

STAY OUT OF TROUBLE.
